How your information is handled
Who is responsible for your information?
MLE Accounting Ltd is responsible for personal information collected through this website. Registered in England and Wales, company number 06694578.
Registered office: 101 Devonshire Place, Aviary Court, Wade Road, Basingstoke, England, RG24 8PE. You can contact us about privacy at martin@mleaccounting.com.
What information do we collect?
When you send a website enquiry, we receive your name, email address, the service selected and your message. If you email us directly, we receive the information you include in that correspondence.
Web hosting services may also collect technical information such as IP address, browser details and the time and page of a visit in server logs.
Why do we use it, and on what legal basis?
We use enquiry information to understand your request, respond, discuss suitable services and, if you ask us to, take steps towards an agreed professional engagement. Depending on the enquiry, the relevant UK GDPR lawful basis may be steps taken at your request before entering a contract or our legitimate interests in answering business enquiries.
We may also process necessary technical information to protect the website and prevent misuse, where supported by an applicable lawful basis. We will not automatically add you to a marketing mailing list because you submitted an enquiry.
Who receives your information?
Enquiries are sent to the practice at martin@mleaccounting.com. Website-hosting and email-service suppliers may process enquiries or technical logs on our behalf. We may disclose information where legally required or reasonably necessary to protect our rights. We do not sell contact details.
Is information sent outside the UK?
This will depend on the service providers used for hosting and email delivery. Where international transfers apply, MLE Accounting must ensure an appropriate legal arrangement and describe it in the published notice.
How long do we keep enquiries?
We keep enquiry information only for as long as it is reasonably needed to respond, maintain an appropriate record of correspondence or meet applicable obligations. If an enquiry becomes client work, different accounting-record and professional retention rules may apply, which will be explained separately.
Your information rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict or object to certain uses, and in some cases request data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it. These rights are not absolute and legal exceptions may apply.
To make a request, email martin@mleaccounting.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Security and confidential information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information. However, an ordinary web enquiry or email is not the right place to send identity documents, passwords, tax references, payroll details, banking information or other sensitive records. If secure documents are required, we will agree a suitable method separately.

Client work and later changes
This notice explains our public website and initial enquiries. If you become a client, we may need additional personal information for accountancy, taxation, payroll or legal obligations. We will provide the relevant privacy information for those services.
We will update this notice if our website or information-handling practices change. We do not use website enquiries for automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects.
